Materials for making: old clothes or scraps of fabric, ruler, elastic band, sewing machine, scissors, washable marker, round-headed pins, iron, safety pins.
Step 1: Cut the fabric scraps into a strip of 46×8cm.
Step 2: With the right side facing in, fold the strip of fabric.
Step 3: Then, cut the fabric into a rectangle of 30×13cm.
Step 4: Also with the right side facing in, fold the fabric lengthwise and widthwise once, resulting in a small rectangle of 1/4 size.
Step 5:Draw a 1/4 shaped rabbit ear on the fabric by folding it.
Step 6: Cut out the fabric along the lines.
Step 7: Unfold the bunny ear fabric.
Step 8: Fold the bunny ear fabric with the right side facing in, and secure with pins.
Step 9: Sew the edges of the two folded pieces of fabric.
Step 10: When sewing the bunny ears, leave a 2.5cm-wide opening in the middle for turning the fabric right side out.
Step 11: Turn the long hair band right side out and iron both pieces of fabric to flatten them.
Step 12: Cut the elastic band to 23cm in length.
Step 13: Secure a safety pin to one end of the elastic band.
Step 14: Thread the elastic band into the long hair band.
Step 15: Tie both ends together.
Step 16: Sew the ends of the long hair band together.
Step 17: Don’t forget to sew the opening of the bunny ears as well.
Step 18: Attach the bunny ears to the hair band, and the bunny ear headband is complete. By using simple methods, you can create bunny ear headbands in various colors to match different colored clothing.
